Woven Light is a collection of handwoven and computer interface dobby woven textiles investigation the concept of "painting". These abstract compositions are inspired by the multitude of sound, light, textures, and overall atmosphere of the Olympic Peninsula of Washington state. Both exploring the organic line quality of lightly altered old growth forest and the rigid geometry of freshly logged landscapes, and where there two realities intersect. Range of color and texture is created through meditative experiments of superimposing altering weave structures, space dying material, brushing mohair, inlay tapestry weaving, light felting, contrasting inherent yarn properties, and a forever willingness to explore.
